Time Management Tips for 2018
I suck at time management sometimes. Especially when it comes to this blog. I say I’ll post three times a week which is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and I totally forget. I have just started using these tips like hardcore just in the past few weeks.
1.) Use the Pomodoro technique
The Pomodoro technique is when you work solidly on one thing for a set time like 25 minutes and take a break for a set time like 10 minutes. Then you repeat that until you’ve completed the item your working on.
When I say multitask I don’t mean talking on the phone and driving or texting and driving. Those are both dangerous and very unnecessary. When I say multitasking, I mean listening to a podcast while driving or checking emails while on the bus/subway.
3.) Time chunk your calendar
I am really bad at doing this but I really need to start! I need to time chunk my calendar. It would limit how much time I use on one project at a time.
4.) Read Emails 3 to 4 times a day
I only check my emails 3 to 4 times a day. If you check them more it can become a distraction and you’ll end up wasting more time.
5.) Do the MIT first
I like to create a ToDo list of the most urgent/important items first. I put it together in terms of priority.
6.) Turn phone off
I love to put my phone on silent or turn it off. It’s so nice to be free of distractions and interruptions.
7.) reward yourself
When you finish most of your to-do list you should reward yourself.
