Jack Reacher: Never Go Back Review

*Possible Spoilers! Beware!*

So today I am writing the Jack Reacher: Never Go Back Review. I saw it back in October with some friends and family. I will say it was pretty good!

IMDb: 6.4/10

Rotten Tomatoes: 37%

Metacritic: 47%

Director: Edward Zwick

Estimated Budget: $68 Million Dollars

Gross Revenue: $112.90 Million Dollars

My thoughts

So I really enjoyed the movie. Although the ratings by other were no where near as good. I enjoyed the fact that their was two leading female roles although the younger girl her role was rather meh in terms of what she did. The women who played Turner was badass. Reacher was played by the talented Tom Cruise. His part was good. One of my favorite scenes was when Turner took out a man using her hands and a water hose. By the end, it is way more action packed than the beginning. I also had some very funny moments. Also writing the Jack Reacher: Never Go Back Review was nice as well.

*Note: The story line portion of this post gives away a lot of information the movie.*

Story Line

The Beginning

Former military investigator, Jack Reacher, uncovers a human trafficking ring with Major Susan Turner. Afterwards, he goes to meet Major turner but learns from Colonel Sam Morgan that Turner has been accused of espionage and arrested.

Reacher contacts Turner’s attorney. Colonel Moorcroft reveals to Reacher that there is evidence that Turner is involved in the murders of two soldiers in Afghanistan. Reacher believes she is being framed. Moorcroft also reveals an old acquaintance of Reacher, Candice Dayton, has filed a paternity suit against him, claiming he’s the biological father of her 15-year-old daughter, Samantha Dayton. Moorcroft is later killed by an unknown assassin.

Reacher reaches out to Samantha, but she rebuffs him, believing he’s after her biological mother due to her past as a drug addict. Reacher is later framed for Moorcroft’s murder and arrested and transported to the prison where Turner is being detained. Assassins arrive to kill her, but Reacher neutralizes them, rescues her and they escape to Morgan’s house, having deduced he’s involved in the conspiracy, to extract information. After they leave, the assassin, revealed to be working with Morgan, kills Morgan and frames Reacher which he learns about from a friend, Sergeant Leach when he asks her to investigate a military contractor.

The Middle

After Reacher and Turner find surveillance photos of Sam. They deduct that she is most definitely in danger. The head to her home to find Sam’s foster parents dead and sam herself hiding in the kitchen. They decide to escort Sam to Turner’s old private school. Unfortunately Sam has her cell phone and they are forced to leave. On the way out, Sam takes another students backpack so they can use the credit cards inside.

Sam, Reacher and Turner head to New Orleans to take to the only eyewitness from Afghanistan. They find him in a warehouse. They learn that Prudhomme is connected to Parasource, a private military organization that is trying to cover up the murders. Reacher contacts Turner’s friend, Captain Anthony Espin, to move Prudhomme into custody, but they are ambushed by assassins and Prudhomme is killed, while Reacher rescues Espin and finds out that the assassins are Parasource contractors. Parasource’s CEO, General James Harkness, then sends his enforcer to capture Samantha after she uses a credit card to order room service.

The End

Basically after that Turner and Reacher intercept weapons that are back in the us. Reacher finds the drugs. The men are arrested and there’s a nice hurray!

Overview

I would give it an 8 out of 10 because I think the younger girl could’ve been portrayed better. It’s not the actress’ fault. It was the script.
