Crime Simulator Game Review

Crime Simulator Game Review

Crime Simulator throws you right into the messy world of crime, fresh out of jail and drowning in debt. Made by CookieDev and published by Ultimate Games and PlayWay, it’s a stealth-action game where you pull off all sorts of heists, solo or with up to three friends. Whether you’re picking locks, knocking out guards, or just breaking stuff to get in, every job gets you closer to clearing that debt.

Honestly, it felt a lot like Thief Simulator — from the map to how you grab cash and loot. It kind of seemed like a re-skinned version of a game I’d already played, which was a bit disappointing. There are some changes, but not enough to really set it apart. Still, it’s not a bad game, just a little Deja vu if you know the other ones.

Playing the Heists

One cool thing is the variety. There are three different locations, each with its own vibe and security level, so it keeps things fresh instead of you looting the same spots over and over. You can play solo or jump into a 4-player co-op (which I didn’t get to try), but that could either be fun or chaos depending on your crew. The game gives you plenty of tools to work with—from lockpicks to a crossbow, plus stuff like sleep gas to knock people out. And since missions are timed, you got to be quick and smart with your gear choices, or you’ll just slow yourself down.

I really liked the progression system. There are 15 skills to unlock, letting you customize how you play—like carrying more loot or spotting hidden threats. There’s also a quirky voucher machine that, once you figure it out, is super handy for calling the cops or fixing your tools. Your hideout is more than just a safe spot, too—it helps boost your stats, like adding a bed to restore health or a treadmill to increase stamina.

Sound-wise, it’s pretty minimal but works well. No annoying background music, which helps build the sneaky vibe. But I wish there were more ambient sounds, like creaky floors or doors opening, to make sneaking around more intense. Also, you can hear people calling the cops and then hear the police coming from miles away—so you’re usually long gone by the time they show up. A bit of fine-tuning here would make it feel more real.

Controls are simple and smooth. WASD to move, mouse to look around, and E to interact or loot. Lockpicking is straightforward too—just move the mouse to the right spot and press D to unlock. I like games that don’t overcomplicate things, and this one nailed that.

Graphically, the game surprised me with how clean and realistic it looked. Some spots could use better textures, but overall, it’s a nice step up from the usual cartoony simulation games. Nighttime could be darker though—right now, it feels more like dawn or dusk, so using a torch would add more tension. The UI is simple and easy to navigate, which I appreciated.

Final Take

All in all, Crime Simulator gives you a gritty, grounded stealth-heist experience where you’re hustling to pay off your debt with some pretty daring jobs. It leans a bit too much on the Thief Simulator formula, but there’s still enough here to keep things interesting if you’re into this kind of game.
