Havendock Game Review

If you’re looking for a fun village builder to add to your game stash or just want a solid place to start with the genre, check out Havendock. The graphics are awesome, the music sticks in your head, and the gameplay is super addictive.

You start off stranded alone in the middle of the ocean with zero memories. To survive, you gotta build a base from whatever stuff floats by. As you get your little haven going, other survivors show up to help you grow. The key here is efficiency — you’ll be juggling building, managing resources, exploring, and researching. Don’t be fooled by how cute it looks; it can get overwhelming if you’re sloppy, but that’s part of the fun. I recommend playing your first run without any spoilers to get the full Havendock vibe. Once you get stuck, then go ahead and look up some tips. And if you want more challenge, you can tweak the settings.

What I really like about this game is how it eases you in. Everyone starts with a questline that teaches you the basics but still leaves room for mistakes, so it keeps things interesting. It’s not insanely hard, but there’s enough challenge to keep you hooked. You won’t get far without at least a basic plan on what to research, build, or gather. Havendock is definitely tricky to master, but it’s a super satisfying and fun ride. Even when my village was barely holding on, I found myself humming along to the music and enjoying the chaos.

If you want a new game to dive into, grab Havendock. It’s cute, fun, and perfect if you’ve never played a resource management game before. The hardest part? Deciding when to stop, since there’s always something to build, research, or work toward. I loved it, and I think you will too.

You can get Havendock on Steam for $16.99. It’s still in early access, but honestly, it doesn’t feel like it at all.
