All my healthy hair tips

Eliminate washes

I only wash (ie. Use shampoo and conditioner) my hair a max of twice a week. I still go to the gym 3-5 days a week. I take a shower every single day. Sometimes, when I take a shower I may just rinse my hair with water no shampoo.

Hair masks

I use a hair mask once a week. I usually use a moisturizing toning mask for my blonde hair. There are a bunch of really good hair mask for all types of hair.

Pick the right products

You need to pick good quality shampoo and conditioner. You want products that are made by salon professionals. don’t always trust buying from amazon and Walmart for products sometimes they are not supposed to sell those professional brands. However, I would say Ulta is probably a safe bet in terms of buying hair care products.

Wide-tooth comb

You will never see me using a hairbrush on wet hair. When hair is wet, it’s more prone to breakage if you brush your hair with a regular hairbrush. I also use a wide-tooth comb and start at the ends of my hair and work my way up to the top.

Silk or satin pillowcase

I use a silk pillowcase. It is good to help maintain hairstyles. As well as prevent moisture in your hair from being absorbed into a cotton pillowcase. It also helps prevent wrinkles from forming on your skin. You could also sleep in a satin scarf

Air dry

I hardly ever use a blow dryer on my hair. If I do, it’s very few and far between. I usually just air dry because it’s healthier for your hair or I’ll only blow dry my roots.

Heat protectant

I always use a heat protectant. If I blow dry my hair I use a heat protectant that is specifically made for blow-drying. When I style my hair, I use a heat protectant that is made to use with flat irons and curling irons.

Less heat

It is always a good thing to limit the amount of heat you put on your hair. I always try to style it in a way that requires minimal heat. Also, I have blonde hair so my hair can easily be fried or get very dry.

More trims

I try to get my hair trimmed often. Trimming your hair regularly keeps your split ends (Trichoptilosis) from going up the length of your hair and causing more damage.

Supplements

I use biotin as a hair, skin and, nails supplement. There are a few studies that show biotin helps with hair growth. It also affects the skin in healthy ways as well.

Healthy Diet

I also try to maintain a healthier diet full of all the right things like fruits, vegetables, grains, protein. what you put into your body will more than likely be reflected on the outside. Depending on the food type, You can notice a difference within two hours to a few weeks.

Lots of water

I also drink a lot of water. Also, I almost always drink water or hot tea. I hardly ever drink soda. Also, staying hydrated is so important for the health of your hair. Your hair will feel smoother and overall better with more water consumption.

My Hair:

I also feel compelled to note that I do get my hair professional lightened in a salon.

I usually ask for full highlights and a blunt cut. Also, I naturally have a lot of thick hair so my hair can take some damage and be still be pretty healthy.
