    Life update September 2018

Life Update September 2018 Hello, This will be a little bit of a short post. Mostly just a life update seeing as I am not very good at keeping others up to date on what is happening. Work First off, I am working in a salon full time. I don’t remember making it super obvious or not.  So yadda yadda yadda, I do things like haircuts, color, highlights, etc. I like it but I want to be able to do things other than just hair. Actually, the correct way to put this is, I want more skills that I can use if I were to have to stop doing hair. Example: getting Injured or…

Wedding Wednesday: Finding a wedding dress

Wedding Wednesday: Finding a wedding dress So I recently found my dream wedding dress.  Now that we are 7 months out, I figured I could start blabbing about it.  NOTE: I am not showing the actual dress until after the wedding. Sorry! I will, however, show the dresses I’ve tried which are a BIG NO. They were a no for several reasons. I chose a dress based on comfort. I wanted to be able to move and walk in it. I wanted it to flatter my figure while being not too expensive. I probably tried on close to 50 dress in three different stores.Preview Changes (opens in a new tab)…

Tips for passing the NC Cosmetology State Board Practical exam

Tips for passing the NC Cosmetology State Board Practical exam (Also there is PDF that you can print and use as a checklist to make sure you pack everything you need!) Packing your bag: I would suggest having your bag packed with everything you need at least a week before your test. The most effective way to do that is to have a double of everything. That includes shears, combs, curling irons etc. Eat before your practical test. I mean eat a healthy meal. I didn’t eat a good meal and I was starving after the test. Stay the night where your test is taking place: If you can afford to stay in…

How to pack a weekend away bag

How to pack a weekend away bag Today’s post is about packing a weekend away bag. The weekend that I packed for this trip was for Charlotte. I was going to visit family and go wedding dress shopping. The good news is I found my dress! – Determine the size of the bag and what you need to bring The first thing for packing a bag, you need to determine what your agenda is. For my trip, I was only gone from Friday to Sunday.  I was going wedding dress shopping so I packed a maxi dress for the dress trial process.  I brought jeans for all the others days because I…

    Myrtle Beach, SC

Myrtle Beach, SC This about my evening/afternoon in Myrtle Beach, SC. My mom, younger brother, Hunter, Anthony and myself went on Friday afternoon. We went to visit my Auntie Anne, and my cousins, Rick and Julie.   When we got there my aunt was waiting in the lobby of the time share for us. They stay for a week in Myrtle Beach every year. We went up to their room. While there we caught up with them. Then we went down to the grills and cooked some awesome hamburgers and hot dogs. They were so tasty. Then we walked around a little bit. After that we hung out on the…

    A weekend in Charlotte

A weekend in Charlotte Friday, June 1st, 2018 We woke up at 3:30am to go to Charlotte. We left my house at 4:20am. We got to Charlotte around 8:30am. While my mom and aunt went to visit my uncle, Anthony and I went to dunkin donuts, but Anthony wanted a medicine ball. So we went to unusually dirty Starbucks (Side Note: Starbucks doesn’t sell the tea that they used to make a traditional medicine ball) Whatever we got was disgusting. The cashier told us it was similar to a medicine ball. The tea was so bad that we couldn’t drink it. We ended dumping it out and buying coffee from…

    How I edit my Photos

How I edit my photos I start off picking out a photo of my liking. This one happens to be from mine and Anthony’s friend’s wedding. I go on Facetune to edit the photos. I start off with the whitening feature of Facetune. I usually whiten teeth, white backgrounds, and white clothing. Depending on the lightening things can look yellow quickly. Then I go to the smoothing feature to make sure I don’t have a bumpy or wrinkly looking face. Finally, I go to the detail feature and enhance the eyes and other areas that I want to look more lively. This is how I edit my photos. Thank you…

9 Tips for choosing a wedding venue

9 Tips for choosing a wedding venue This is a similar guide to how I and Anthony choose our wedding venue. We went with a pretty basic list of things to think of. 1.) Choose a venue that will align with what you imangine in your mind. That being said also be open to changing your vision a little bit. 2.) Know your guest list. Know about how many people you want their. Our venue can hold 120 people max. We decided for comfort to keep it between 100-110. 3.) Know your budget. You don’t go into debt to have a really expensive place. Anthony and I paid under $1000…
