Teacup Game Review
Teacup Game Review

Teacup is a short and sweet little adventure game that’s all about relaxing and exploring at your own pace. You play as a shy, quiet frog named Teacup who’s on a mission to gather ingredients for her upcoming tea party. That’s pretty much the whole setup — and it’s honestly kind of perfect.
Set in the charming little town of Little Pond, the game invites you to slow down and just enjoy the moment. You’ll wander through soft pastel environments filled with gentle acoustic music, cozy animal homes, and little clues pointing you toward different types of tea. Everything about this place feels hand-crafted and peaceful — like stepping into a storybook.
Teacup came out on September 24, 2021, made by Smarto Club, and — as the name hints — it’s all about tea. Finding it, learning about it, brewing it. You even have a tea encyclopedia to flip through as you go, and it’s surprisingly fun to just sit there and read about different kinds of teas, their uses, and their history. I even wrote some down to try in real life.
Gameplay: A Cozy Journey of Exploration and Puzzles
There’s no pressure to rush or “win” anything here. Instead, you help out your neighbors with small tasks and puzzles — nothing too challenging, but always charming. Maybe you’ll help organize a veggie stand, race a salamander, sort some stamps for the mailman, or fix things up backstage for a local play. Every part of the game encourages you to engage with the town and its characters in a meaningful but super chill way.
You can’t fast-travel either, which sounds annoying but actually works really well. You’re meant to walk, to take your time, to chat with folks and enjoy the scenery. It’s more about the vibe than the objective. And honestly, it’s refreshing to play a game that just wants you to slow down and enjoy yourself.
Teacup doesn’t try to throw big drama at you — it’s more about the small, cozy moments: having a picnic, drinking dream tea with some magicians, rowing a boat in the afternoon sun. These quiet interactions are what make Little Pond feel alive.
Final Thoughts: A Delightfully Calm and Charming Adventure
At its heart, Teacup is a gentle, 2D story-driven game that’s all about taking it easy. The art is adorable, the music is calming, and the whole experience feels like a warm cup of your favorite tea. It’s not a long game, but it’s definitely one you’ll want to savor.
